A delegation from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), which was in Canada to visit the Canadian Defense Academy (CDA) and Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC) in Kingston, Ontario and the Royal Military College of St. Jean in Quebec, paid a courtesy call on Consul General Angelica C. Escalona. The PMA delegation was led Vice Admiral Caesar Bernard N. Valencia PN, PMA Superintendent.

Consulate officials and the delegation discussed matters of concern to the Filipino diaspora and prospects for defense cooperation between the Philippines and Canada, particularly training and education.
